Fossile hunting and superstition

07. Feb 2019 KL. 18:30 - 19:30

Geologist Jan Stenløkk talks about collecting fossils around the world and what people belived about fossils in earlier times. The talk will be held in norwegian.

Fossils are remains of ancient plants and animals. Without fossils, we would never have known about the existence of dinosaurs! People have undoubtedly discovered fossils also in the past, and they made many colourful interpretations about what they were. There are not many areas to find fossils in Norway, but they can be common in many other countries. Join in on a journey in search of fossils and hear about some of the explanations for what they were.
